Minimum qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in software engineering research or practical experience building and scaling systems.
  • 10 years of experience with accounting/finance ERP systems and business processes, as well as the system controls related to the processes.
  • Experience designing, configuring, and testing SAP modules (MM, PP, PS, MDG, PI/PO) using SAP S4/HANA.
  • Experience leading in a global organization.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, Master's degree, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in designing and implementing large-scale ERP, SAP Finance systems.
  • Experience in the enterprise technology buying and evaluation process.
  • Experience building, architecting, designing and implementing highly distributed global cloud-based systems.
  • Experience in compliance, IT audit or risk management (PCI, CISA, CISM, COSO, COBIT, etc.).
  • Understanding of large-scale computing solutions.

About the job

As the VP for Engineering for Finance, Compliance & Governance (FCG) you will act as a business and technology visionary who will be responsible for an AI-first, agent-led transformation in the internal systems and functions across finance, SAP, procurement, and legal for corporate engineering globally. You will oversee these teams to ensure that Google's financial, compliance and SAP infrastructure is innovative, secure, and strictly aligned with business strategy and regulatory requirements. You'll lead, inspire, and upskill a global organization of technologists. In addition, you will direct the planning, implementation, and support of technology systems to drive value creation and support business operations. You will forge successful working relationships with cross-functional partners in a fast-paced environment and balance long-term strategic vision.

The US base salary for this full-time position is $550,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage AI-lead innovation, drive the transformation of the FCG organization to orchestrate agentic workflows while keeping rigorous adherence to regulations.
  • Transform finance, legal and procurement systems to autonomous, predictive powerhouses, leveraging GenAI to provide real-time strategic insights.
  • Lead strategic planning for internal engineering systems to achieve core business goals, prioritizing technology initiatives across the FCG landscape.
  • Maintain operational excellence while creating a more efficient, agile and effective operational model that evaluates build versus buy opportunities and leverages best available resources both internal and external to the company. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with other senior executives to develop a clear understanding of business needs. Ensure delivery of the corporate engineering organization to meet needs and respond with agility to changing business priorities.
