You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, to leverage user insights and create industry-leading products.

As a Visual Designer, you will rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution. You will collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.

As a Visual Designer on the YouTube Design Systems team, you will define the visual identity for YouTube’s next generation of AI-powered experiences. You will evolve YouTube's design language to create intuitive and engaging interfaces for new technologies, ensuring that AI-driven features are accessible and easy to navigate. You will focus on creating innovative visual patterns and scalable systems that communicate system activity and empower users. You will also collaborate with cross-functional partners and ensure a unified experience for creators and viewers globally.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve a cohesive visual language for YouTube’s generative AI experiences, connecting between Google’s AI identity (Gemini) and YouTube's unique brand personality.
  • Contribute to the core design system by creating high-fidelity visual assets and components that utilize real-world optics to guide users through AI-powered journeys.
  • Design signature UI moments that signal AI activity, transforming static interfaces into translucent windows that indicate the system is actively processing possibilities.
  • Deliver fully developed design specifications and clear documentation to ensure that product teams across YouTube can independently and efficiently build AI features that are compliant with the unified design system.
