Software Engineer II (0019-0045)

Create or modify programs, modules, routines, scripts and data objects from a detailed design where efficiency, performance and reliability affect a major portion of the system. Be involved throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with increased emphasis in the design phase. Write code that meets specifications. Develop software applications and tools. Implement activities that generally impact discrete components, processes of the work of own unit, team, and projects. Demonstrate proficiency in several areas of the professional function. Effectively resolve problems and roadblocks as they occur. Interact with internal and external peers and managers to exchange semi-complex information related to assigned activities. Receive work in the form of short-term assignments that often require the application of independent judgment. Operate within the context of defined procedures, including work in a Scaled Agile environment. Position is fixed location based in Framingham office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.

40 hours/week, 8:00am-5:00pm

Education and Experience Requirements

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a directly related field plus two (2) years of experience in software development.

Must have two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

Developing applications using Java and J2EE technologies, including Spring Boot
Building and consuming RESTful APIs
Writing and maintaining unit and integration tests using tools including Junit or TestNG
Working with version control systems, including Git
Participating in Agile and Scrum development teams and ceremonies
Using CI and CD tools including Jenkins or GitLab CI
Java programming, including development using Java 8+
Developing applications using Spring Boot and Spring Framework
Designing and consuming RESTful APIs

Must have one (1) year of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

Working with SQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle
Git or other version control systems in a team setting
CI/CD pipelines using tools including Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps
Unit testing frameworks including JUnit or TestNG
Working in Agile or Scrum software development methodologies

Must have six (6) months of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

Cloud platforms, including deploying or integrating services in a cloud environment

Telecommuting/Remote Work is Permitted

Position is fixed location based in Framingham office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.
