Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Dental Billing Supervisor to lead our billing operations and ensure accurate, timely revenue cycle management. This position is responsible for supervising a remote billing team while working on-site at our office. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has extensive knowledge of dental insurance billing, accounts receivable, and collections.

The Dental Billing Supervisor will monitor team performance, maintain billing accuracy, resolve complex account issues, and support the financial success of the practice through effective revenue cycle management.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor the daily productivity and accuracy of the remote dental billing team.

  • Review team performance and provide coaching, training, and feedback to improve efficiency and quality.

  • Review and manage patient billing and collections.

  • Generate accurate treatment estimates and patient financial responsibility prior to appointments.

  • Manage and reduce Accounts Receivable (A/R) while maintaining collection goals.

  • Review daily collections, payment postings, and deposits for accuracy.

  • Review and resolve Coordination of Benefits (COB) issues on patient accounts.

  • Audit insurance payments, adjustments, and patient ledgers for accuracy posted by remote employees.

  • Identify billing discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

  • Follow up on outstanding insurance claims and patient balances.

  • Ensure accurate insurance payment posting and contractual adjustments.

  • Collaborate with the front office and clinical team to resolve billing-related concerns.

  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and dental insurance billing regulations.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for billing processes.

  • Prepare billing reports and key performance metrics for management.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 4 years of dental billing experience

  • Previous experience supervising or leading a dental billing team preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Dental insurance claims processing

    • PPO billing and reimbursement

    • Accounts Receivable management

    • Patient collections

    • Coordination of Benefits (COB)

    • Treatment estimates and insurance verification

  • Ability to analyze reports and identify billing errors.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficient with dental practice management software and Microsoft Office.

Compensation & Benefits

  • W-2 Employment

  • $28.00–$33.00 per hour, depending on experience

  • 90-day probationary period
