Student Population: K 12
Schedule: 35 50 hours per week
Start Date: Aug 2026
End Date: June 2027 (with the possibility of extension)
Credential Needed: Mild/Mod or Mod/Sev
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Educational Specialist-Mild/Mod to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide specialized instructional support and develop tailored educational plans for students with mild to moderate disabilities. Your expertise will help foster an inclusive learning environment, ensuring each student receives the personalized attention and resources they need to thrive academically and socially. Responsibilities
Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that align with state regulations and meet each student’s unique needs.
Deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction across core subjects such as literacy, math, and social skills, incorporating educational technology tools.
Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, parents, and support staff to coordinate instructional strategies and behavioral interventions.
Utilize behavioral therapy techniques, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and other behavioral management methods to support student progress.
Adapt curriculum materials and instructional modifications to accommodate students with disabilities, including those who are deaf or visually impaired.
Monitor student progress through assessments, standardized testing, and ongoing observations; adjust teaching approaches accordingly.
Maintain detailed documentation of student development, IEP goals, behavioral data, and communication logs for compliance and reporting purposes.
Skills
Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and educational compliance standards.
Expertise in speech therapy techniques, behavioral health strategies, and recreational or music therapy as applicable.
Proficiency in curriculum development for early childhood education, literacy education, math instruction, and preschool or toddler care.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and other learning challenges.
Familiarity with learning technology platforms, instructional design tools, and educational software integration.
Excellent communication skills for parent engagement, team collaboration, and professional documentation.
Classroom management skills combined with effective behavior management strategies tailored for students with special needs.
