We're Looking for the Life of the (Senior) Party!
Do you believe fun has no age limit? Can you turn a Wednesday afternoon into the highlight of someone’s week? If you're a natural-born organizer with a heart for seniors and a flair for fabulous events, we want YOU to be our part-time Senior Activities Coordinator!
What You'll Be Doing:
You’ll be the creative mastermind behind programs that bring joy, wellness, and connection to citizens 55+. From recreational activities and wellness workshops to social and cultural celebrations, you’ll be:
- Planning and hosting a variety of recreational, social, health, and cultural programs
- Spreading the word via social media, print, the City website, app, and TV (yes, you might be a local star!)
- Building meaningful relationships that boost senior participation and make every attendee feel like a VIP
- Collaborating with community partners and keeping everyone in the loop with engaging promotions
What You Bring to the Party:
- A Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, gerontology, or a related field + 2 years experience in a similar role; OR
- An Associate's degree + 4 years of relevant experience; OR
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- A passion for working with seniors and creating positive, inclusive environments
- A valid Class "C" Texas Driver’s License (because karaoke machines don’t drive themselves)
- The ability to juggle clipboards, calendars, and community connections with ease
Bonus Points if You: - Can teach a mean line dance
- Have social media savvy and love telling stories that shine
- Know how to turn an ordinary room into a party central with just a few streamers and some jazz hands
Must-Haves:
- Acceptable driving record (for getting to and from those can’t-miss events!)
- A smile that lights up the room and an energy that’s contagious
