Warehouse Supervisor

Job description:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily movement, organization, tracking, and storage of customer contents within a textile restoration facility. This role ensures that packout containers, department containers, cleaned textiles, total loss items, and completed jobs are handled accurately, safely, and efficiently from receiving through delivery.

The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, dependable, and comfortable leading a team in a fast-paced restoration environment where attention to detail and customer property care are critical.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

Receive incoming packout containers from fire, water, smoke, or mold restoration jobs.
Verify containers are properly labeled, documented, and stored in the correct location.
Maintain accurate warehouse organization so jobs and containers can be quickly located.
Oversee the movement of dirty containers from storage to tagging, cleaning, packing, and delivery staging.
Ensure completed jobs are properly packed, labeled, staged, and ready for delivery.
Monitor storage areas for cleanliness, safety, and proper use of space.
Inventory & Job Tracking

Track customer contents through each stage of the production process.
Confirm that containers, department containers, and packed items are accounted for.
Help identify missing, mislabeled, damaged, or misplaced items before they become larger issues.
Work with production and office staff to update job status and resolve discrepancies.
Assist with photo inventory, item documentation, and quality checks when needed.
Team Leadership

Supervise warehouse employees and help assign daily tasks.
Train team members on proper handling, labeling, storage, and safety procedures.
Set clear expectations for productivity, accuracy, and care of customer belongings.
Monitor employee performance and provide coaching as needed.
Help maintain a positive, accountable, team-focused work environment.
Quality Control & Customer Property Care

Ensure customer items are handled with care and respect at all times.
Confirm fragile, valuable, sentimental, or specialty items are separated and handled properly.
Make sure packed items are protected for storage and delivery.
Identify concerns such as odor, contamination, moisture, mold risk, or damage and report them promptly.
Help prevent cross-contamination between dirty and cleaned items.
Safety & Facility Maintenance

Enforce warehouse safety procedures and proper lifting techniques.
Keep aisles, work areas, storage zones, and loading areas clean and organized.
Maintain proper use of carts, shelving, pallet jacks, ladders, and other warehouse equipment.
Report facility, vehicle, equipment, or safety issues to management.
Assist with supply inventory and ensure the warehouse has the materials needed for daily operations.
Communication

Communicate daily priorities with production, delivery, office, and management teams.
Provide updates on job status, container counts, bottlenecks, and urgent needs.
Help coordinate deliveries, pickups, warehouse visits, and job staging.
Escalate issues involving missing items, damaged items, customer concerns, or job delays.
