We are seeking an experienced Transportation Technician to join our team in a dynamic control room environment. In this role, you will monitor regional roadways using traffic surveillance systems, manage traffic incidents, and dispatch appropriate emergency and field response teams to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.

This position is ideal for candidates with a strong background in dispatch, call center operations, or traffic/ incident management who excel in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities
• Traffic & Operations Monitoring: Actively monitor roadways, traffic conditions, and system equipment using closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and intelligent transportation devices.
• Incident Management: Identify, track, and manage scheduled and unscheduled traffic incidents. Coordinate and dispatch appropriate response resources across multiple agencies.
• System Maintenance & Knowledge: Maintain operational familiarity with computer-based traffic management software, surveillance equipment, and local roadway systems.
• Communication: Coordinate effectively with partner agencies and team members to minimize regional travel disruptions.
• General Duties: Perform routine and operational functions under minimal supervision, escalating complex issues to supervisors as needed.

Qualifications & Experience
• Customer Service: Strong customer service background (highly preferred).
• Industry Experience: Prior dispatch, emergency communications, or call center experience (highly preferred).
• Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy, including operational proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) and basic software/email management.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively across departments and partner agencies.
• Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team in a high-consequence environment.

Requirements
• Must be local to Knoxville, TN or the immediate surrounding counties.
• Must pass background screening requirements prior to starting.

Schedule:
• Overnight Shift Tuesday Friday 38 hours/week
• Tuesday Thursday: 10:00 PM 7:30 AM
• Friday: 10:30 PM 7:30 AM
