Lead Teacher - 6th Grade
South Bay Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher to join our team as a 5th/6th Grade Math and Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is responsible for providing engaging, high-quality instruction in mathematics and science while helping students grow academically, socially, and spiritually in a Christ-centered environment.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about working with upper elementary and middle school students, committed to academic excellence, and comfortable integrating biblical principles into the classroom. In addition to teaching Math and Science, this teacher will also be responsible for teaching Bible and supporting the spiritual development of students.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging Math and Science lessons aligned with school curriculum and standards.
Teach Bible classes and integrate a biblical worldview throughout instruction.
Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth and achievement.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with parents and school leadership.
Collaborate with colleagues to support school-wide goals and initiatives.
Maintain classroom management procedures that encourage respect, responsibility, and student success.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; degree in Education or a related field preferred
Bachelor's degree and previous experience in education
Strong classroom management skills
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
