Director of AI Operations

Our client is a fast-growing healthcare AI startup seeking a Director of AI Operations to own the company's AI roadmap, build intelligent workflows, and drive AI adoption across every business function becoming the architect of how the company operates as an AI-first organization.

This is a hands-on builder role for someone who can move from strategy to shipping without losing either partnering across GTM, Post-Sales, Product, and Engineering to eliminate operational drag and create compounding leverage.

What You'll Do:

Strategy & Prioritization

Own a prioritized AI roadmap sourced from department needs, leadership priorities, and champion network signal

Set the operating model for what gets built centrally vs. embedded in each function

Build & Ship

Design and ship AI-powered workflows, automations, and internal tools from concept to production

Mix custom code, APIs, and no/low-code platforms based on what ships fastest without compromising rigor

Standards & Tooling

Define agent and skill lifecycle and foundational assets prompt libraries, SOPs, templates, and integration patterns

Administer platform tools (Claude, Notion AI, n8n, Zapier) and bring in new tooling where needed

Standardize how AI is built, evaluated, and scaled internally with rigor on security, quality, and reliability

Cross-Functional Partnership

Run the AI Champion and Leader network across non-technical departments

Sit one-on-one with each department lead to shape quarterly AI goals

Enablement & Culture

Run continuous AI upskilling foundations courses, department deep dives, office hours, and new-hire onboarding

Own the company hackathon and track impact of what gets shipped

Key Requirements:

4 6 years in AI ops, technical BizOps, GTM engineering, product, or as a founder building AI products

Built AI workflows and tools at a fast-growing tech startup not enterprise

2+ years focused on AI and automation tooling in production

Worked cross-functionally across multiple business teams

Comfortable in Claude Code and terminal SQL and API integration fluency required

Ex-founder who built and sold an AI product a strong plus

Vision for what a great AI organization looks like and a plan to build it
