Job Description

As we expand our team, we are looking for a detail-oriented and highly analytical professional to fill this critical role. As a Quality Inspector 2, the successful applicant will be instrumental in scrutinizing various stages of our production processes, from initial intake through to final product approval. This role demands precision and an ongoing commitment to excellence, providing a promising career pathway for individuals passionate about quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial quality checks on incoming materials and components to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform detailed inspections of fabricated, welded, and machined components during and after production to identify any deviations or defects.
  • Engage in regular testing and evaluating of products throughout the production cycle to ascertain conformance to quality standards.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, and other technical documents to confirm product requirements.
  • Generate comprehensive QA/QC reports documenting inspection findings and statistical data.
  • Collaborate with production teams to discuss and resolve quality issues, enhancing product excellence.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to existing quality control methodologies and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and industry standards, including ASME code requirements when relevant.
  • Operate within an ISO-9001 certified environment, adhering to all its requirements to maintain systems and process integrity.
  • Utilize ERP systems for efficient management and documentation of quality control processes.

Requirements

  • Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of quality control methodologies and systems.
  • Working knowledge of basic fabrication, welding techniques, weld procedures, and machining procedures.
  • Working knowledge of required maintenance, in-transit, and permanent records.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the various NDE processes.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, customer specifications and standards of moderate complexity.
  • Ability to create QA/QC reports and to interpret statistical data.
  • Experience working within an ISO-9001 environment.
  • Experience working within an ERP system.
  • Knowledge of ASME boiler and pressure vessel codes and ASME Section 1 codes - a plus.
  • Knowledge of ASME Code, Section 8, Division 1 & 2 – a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in the English language.
