Mental Health Therapist (0082-0001)

Provide counseling to individuals, couples and families to work through various mental issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, low self- esteem, stress, trauma, domestic violence, marital problems, parenting issues, child abuse, alcoholism, and anger management; Assist clients to gain insight into their lives and mental health issues; Assist clients to develop positive coping skills to manage their emotional health in a healthy way; Develop and implement treatment plans based on client need; Refer clients to other resources or services in the community, such as support groups or impatient treatment facilities, as needed; Collaborate with other mental health professionals and staff members to provide appropriate mental health treatment; Advocate for clients to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations; Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs on clients progress in resolving identified problems and moving defined objectives; Plan or conduct programs to prevent substance abuse or improve community health or counseling services.

Education and Experience Requirements

Master's degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work or Clinical Psychology is required.
