Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager Excavation to oversee large-scale excavation and heavy civil construction projects from planning through completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project schedules, coordinating field operations, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and manage excavation projects from pre-construction through project completion.
•Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard construction management software.
•Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure efficient project execution.
•Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to support successful project delivery.
•Prepare and review project estimates, contracts, budgets, and change orders.
•Monitor project progress and adjust schedules and resources to meet project milestones.
•Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies by conducting regular site inspections.
•Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, reports, drawings, and change orders.
•Identify and resolve project challenges while minimizing delays and controlling costs.
•Communicate project updates effectively with all stakeholders.
•Oversee daily site operations to ensure quality workmanship and efficient project execution.

Qualifications

•Proven experience managing excavation, earthwork, or heavy civil construction projects.
•Strong knowledge of construction estimating, project scheduling, and construction management principles.
•Experience working with utility installation, site development, and heavy civil infrastructure projects is preferred.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and technical schematics.
•Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and OSHA compliance.
•Relevant certifications or a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field are preferred.

Software Experience

•Proficiency with Primavera P6 for project scheduling is required.
•Experience using HeavyBid for estimating is preferred.
•Knowledge of Procore for construction project management is an asset.
•Experience with Bluebeam for reviewing and managing project documentation is preferred.
•Proficiency with Civil 3D for reviewing civil design drawings is beneficial.
•Experience using construction estimating software is considered an advantage.
