Electrical Assembly Technician

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Assembly Technician to join our production team. This role is responsible for the electrical assembly and installation work on our custom-built truck bodies, trailers, and related equipment. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of 12-volt vehicle electrical systems, can read wiring diagrams and schematics, and takes pride in producing clean, functional, and code-compliant electrical work. You will work closely with our assembly and rigging teams to ensure all electrical systems are correctly installed, tested, and ready for customer delivery.

Electrical Assembly & Installation
Fabricate, route, and install wiring harnesses on truck bodies and trailers per wiring schematics and work orders.
Install and connect 12-volt lighting systems, including running lights, brake lights, turn signals, work lights, and DOT-required lighting.
Install switches, junction boxes, relays, circuit breakers, and control panels.
Connect and test electrical control systems for hydraulic components, including hoist controls, PTO-activated systems, and related auxiliary equipment.
Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires to appropriate connectors and terminals.
Perform point-to-point continuity testing and functional testing of completed electrical assemblies.

Quality & Safety
Ensure all electrical installations meet DOT requirements and company quality standards.
Inspect completed electrical work for proper routing, secure connections, and protection from abrasion or heat exposure.
Follow all shop safety protocols and use PPE appropriately.
Report issues or deficiencies to the supervisor promptly.

Documentation
Accurately complete work orders and note all electrical components installed.
Flag any wiring discrepancies or deviations from standard schematics for supervisor review.

Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational or technical training in electrical trades or automotive/truck electrical systems preferred.

Experience
2+ years of hands-on experience with 12-volt vehicle electrical systems, wire harness assembly, or similar electrical installation work in a manufacturing or automotive environment.

Tech Skills
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Proficiency with electrical hand tools including crimpers, strippers, multi-meters, and test lights.

Knowledge
Familiarity with DOT lighting and electrical standards for commercial vehicles is a strong plus.

Attention
Precise and methodical approach to wiring, termination, and routing. Quality and safety focused.

License
Valid Driver's License Required.
