We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented TMC Technician III for an advanced-level, contract role in Chattanooga, TN.

In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring safe and efficient traffic movement. You will monitor roadways, detect and confirm incidents, coordinate with emergency partners, and dispatch roadside assistance services. This position operates with minimal supervision, requiring quick thinking and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
• Roadway Monitoring: Monitor traffic conditions and identify incidents, congestion, or hazards using surveillance cameras, detection systems, and specialized traffic management software.
• Incident Management & Dispatch: Coordinate and dispatch highway service patrols and emergency response units. Document roadway incidents accurately in the system.
• Inter-Agency Coordination: Confer with partner agencies (Highway Patrol, Local Law Enforcement, Fire Rescue, and adjacent Traffic Management Centers) to coordinate resource allocation for regional travel disruptions.
• Public Information Systems: Manage and verify the accuracy of traveler information systems, including updating dynamic message signs (DMS) and public travel information broadcasts.
• Equipment & Tech Maintenance: Monitor traffic devices and system computer equipment, maintaining advanced operational knowledge of all traffic systems, software, and tools.

Required Skills & Experience
• 2+ years of experience as a TMC Technician or direct comparable experience in traffic operations, emergency dispatch, or command center environments.
• Proficiency with basic computer programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and database systems (Microsoft Access).
• Solid data entry and typing skills.
• Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills especially over radio and multi-line phone systems.
• Strong geographical awareness of the local roadway system and the ability to learn the placement and purpose of traffic monitoring devices quickly.

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience in 911 dispatch, emergency services coordination, or corporate call center environments is highly preferred.
• Experience utilizing standard operating guidelines (SOG) to detect, dispatch, and document critical incidents.

Additional Onboarding Requirements
• Candidate must successfully pass standard background verifications prior to onboarding
• Shift Details (C Shift): Weekend / Evening hours:
- Saturday: 6:00 AM 6:30 PM (12-hour shift)
- Sunday: 6:00 AM 6:30 PM (12-hour shift)
- Monday: 6:00 AM 6:30 PM (12-hour shift)
- Total: 36 40 hours per week
