Director of Advanced Cardiac Imaging

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Director of Advanced Cardiac Imaging to lead and expand Cardiac CT and MRI services across its system of 7 hospitals and multiple ambulatory sites in Roanoke, VA. This leadership position offers a unique opportunity to enhance clinical programs, foster collaboration, and advance research and education in cardiovascular imaging. The successful candidate will also maintain a clinical role as a non-invasive cardiologist, contributing to the academic mission through teaching and research.

• Serving over one million people in Virginia
• Part of Carilion Clinic, a community-based, integrated health system with seven hospitals, 280+ physician practice locations, and 30 GME programs
• Cardiovascular Institute will expand significantly with the opening of the new Crystal Spring Tower in July 2025
• Sophisticated, fully integrated electronic medical record system (EPIC)
• Fellowships in general, interventional and structural cardiology

Responsibilities

• Develop and expand Cardiac CT and MRI services throughout our system of 7 hospitals and multiple ambulatory sites
• Play a key role in enhancing clinical programs
• Foster collaboration in cardiovascular imaging
• Advance research and education in cardiovascular imaging
• Clinical role as a non-invasive cardiologist
• Formal and bedside teaching of Cardiology Fellows, Internal Medicine Residents and other learners
• Participation in Research

Compensation

• Min Starting Salary: $531,250
• Max Starting Salary: $782,000
• Eligible to participate in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs to improve the minimum salary
• Historical averages of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus earnings are included in the maximum salary

Requirements

• Board Certification in Cardiology and Advanced Cardiac Imaging
• Level III training in Cardiovascular CT and/or Cardiac MR
