Physician Neurosurgeon, Cerebrovascular & Skull Base Neurosurgery

Sutter Medical Group is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible neurosurgeon specializing in complex cranial surgery to join its integrated neuroscience group. This role is primarily based at Sutter Medical Center Sacramento and involves supporting comprehensive stroke care and advanced cranial neurosurgery across Sutter Valley hospitals. The position offers an opportunity to work within a high-performing team in a vibrant Northern California community.

• Primary practice location is Sutter Medical Center Sacramento (Midtown Sacramento)
• Supports comprehensive stroke care and advanced cranial neurosurgery across Sutter Valley hospitals
• Participation in a unified neurosurgery call panel
• The neurosurgeon on call serves as the primary physician for neurosurgical emergencies, with established escalation pathways for rare, highly specialized cases
• Opportunities may exist for participation in cranial and trauma call at Sutter Roseville Medical Center

Responsibilities

• Perform open cerebrovascular surgery, including aneurysm clipping
• Perform open and/or endoscopic skull base surgery
• Manage complex cranial and skull base pathology in collaboration with multidisciplinary stroke, neurocritical care, neurointerventional, ENT, and trauma teams

Compensation

• 2-year income guarantee with shareholder track
• Guaranteed base salary - $974,000
• Value based compensation
• Relocation assistance of up to $20,000
• Signing bonus up to $20,000

Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible in Neurosurgery
• Fellowship training or equivalent experience in open cerebrovascular surgery and/or skull base surgery
• Demonstrated experience with low-frequency, high-acuity cranial cases
• Strong interest in collaborative, team-based care within an integrated health system
