Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist

Carilion Clinic is seeking an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join their nationally recognized regional cardiac network in Roanoke, VA. This role involves providing advanced heart failure services in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including the management of patients with temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support devices. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of the Heart Failure Program within a Level 1 Trauma/Academic/Tertiary Care Center.

• Part of Carilion Clinic's nationally recognized regional cardiac network.
• Established and growing Cardiology section supported by a large primary care and specialty referral base.
• Heart Failure Clinic will relocate to the Crystal Spring Tower in July 2025, including additional exam rooms, an outpatient infusion suite, physician and APP offices, and a conference room.
• Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) is a 703-bed Level 1 Trauma/Academic/Tertiary Care Center.
• CRMH is home to 30 Graduate Medical Education Programs affiliated with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced heart failure services in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Manage patients with temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support devices.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the Heart Failure Program with a focus on improving access and expanding services.
• Participate in formal and bedside teaching of Cardiology Fellows, Internal Medicine Residents, and other learners.
• Participate in Research as a core part of the Academic Mission.

Compensation

• Min Starting Salary: $520,000
• Max Starting Salary: $748,056
• Eligible to participate in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs to improve the minimum salary.
• Historical averages of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus earnings are included in the maximum salary.

Requirements

• Board Certification in Cardiology.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation.
