Northwell Health Cancer Institute is seeking a full-time, board-certified physician to lead and strategically direct its medical oncology and hematology program in Manhattan. This dynamic role involves overseeing clinical performance, fostering faculty development, enhancing patient care, and spearheading innovative research initiatives. The successful candidate will serve as Director of Hematology and Medical Oncology for the Northwell Cancer Institute in Manhattan and Chief, Hematology & Medical Oncology at Lenox Hill Hospital.

Practice Info

  • The Hematology & Medical Oncology program in Manhattan includes 15 Hematologic Oncologists, a fellowship program (two fellows per year), and a clinical team of nurses, ACPs, research staff, practice staff, and supportive care professionals.
  • The program spans inpatient care at Lenox Hill Hospital and outpatient care and infusion at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, both in the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
  • In 2027, the outpatient program will relocate to the newly built, state-of-the-art Victoria and Lloyd Goldman Pavilion, a 15-story, 200,000 square foot facility.
  • The Cancer Institute in Manhattan holds national accreditations and designations, including the Commission on Cancer from the American College of Surgeons, NAPBC, and NAPRC.
  • An exciting partnership with START JV, a world-renowned incubator for early phase clinical trials, will open a program onsite in the Goldman Pavilion.
  • The Cancer Center at Lenox Hill Hospital is part of the Northwell Health Cancer Institute, which treats over 16,000 cancer patients and provides access to more than 400 Cancer Institute physicians across 25+ sub-specialties.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the clinical performance of the medical oncology and hematology program.
  • Provide overall strategic direction for the medical oncology and hematology program.
  • Develop and grow faculty.
  • Enhance patient care.
  • Lead innovative, cutting-edge research initiatives.
  • Oversee the clinical, research, educational, and administrative pursuits of the Hematology & Medical Oncology program in Manhattan.
  • Serve as the lead for programmatic initiatives across Hematology & Medical Oncology in Manhattan.
  • Contribute to a strong, collaborative culture across the division and mentor junior faculty, fellows, and other trainees.

Compensation

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125,000 to $750,000, impacted by factors including physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience, and productivity.
