We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Business Analyst for a long-term contract engagement. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical development teams, analyzing complex systems and processes to deliver impactful IT software and application solutions.

Key Responsibilities
• Requirements Gathering & Management: Lead stakeholder interviews and workshops to elicit deep requirements. Author clear, testable functional and non-functional requirements.
• Agile Application Lifecycle Management: Actively utilize Azure DevOps (TFS) to create and manage agile items, including the product backlog, epics, features, user stories, and tasks.
• Process Modeling & Visualization: Review and analyze complex processes, breaking them down into manageable components. Prepare clear workflow diagrams (including Swim Lane and Flow Chart diagrams) and build wireframes or visualization examples using Visio to help technical staff and executive management visualize changes.
• Testing Support: Participate in system integration testing (IT Testing) and actively assist stakeholders with User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Change Management: Support the rollout of new software systems and processes, managing user adoption effectively.
• Cross-Functional Communication: Translate complex technical concepts from developers into clear business terms for stakeholders, and vice versa. Deliver compelling presentations and clear documentation while diplomatically navigating priorities and pushback.

Position Requirements
• Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of dedicated Business Analyst experience specifically embedded within IT project teams.
• Project Domain: Proven track record working directly on IT software and application projects.
• Methodology: Strong familiarity and demonstrated experience working within both Agile/Scrum (including SAFe) and Waterfall project environments.
• Technical Literacy: A solid understanding of how enterprise IT systems work. Familiarity with enterprise software/databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server), writing basic SQL queries, and understanding APIs and Data Flow Diagrams (Note: Programming experience is not required, but high technical literacy is essential).
• Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate priorities diplomatically.

Logistics & Interview Process
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days per week on-site in Richmond, VA)
• Interview Type: Candidates must be available for a multi-stage interview process including both a Webcam interview and an In-Person interview.

Required / Desired Skills
• Agile Business Analyst; Strong understanding of Scrum concepts and methodologies Required - 5 Years
• Well versed with Scrum and Agile, Scaled Agile and Kanban methodologies Required - 5 Years
• Technical experience in organizing and maintaining sprint and product backlogs Required - 5 Years
• Technical experience translating client and product strategy requirement into application requirements and user stories. Required - 5 Years
• Documenting high level Test Strategy, Test Plans, Test Cases and execution of test cases. Required - 5 Years
• Ability to analyze and document business and system processes. Required - 5 Years
• Prior Government IT Business Analyst Experience Strongly preferred Required - 1 Years
• Have a strong understanding of multi-tiered applications Required - 5 Years
