Oncologist

Jackson and Coker is seeking a Board Certified Hematology and Oncology physician for a full-time locums assignment in South Carolina, starting July 1 and extending beyond December 2026. This role involves managing adult and geriatric patients in a free-standing cancer center, with a case mix of benign hematology and malignant oncology. The position requires both inpatient and outpatient duties, with separate coverage for each service.

• Advanced practice providers: 6

Responsibilities

• Participation in tumor board
• Management of bone marrow transplant patients
• Blood bank responsibilities
• Order laboratory tests and imaging
• Prescribe medications
• Treat more than 12 patients per day
• Inpatient is a requirement of this need; outpatient service and the hospital service are separate. A provider would not be covering both on the same day

Shift & Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 8:30AM – 4:30PM
• Coverage will extend beyond December 2026
• Weekend call rotation: Friday 4:30pm - Monday 8am; every 5th or 6th weekend

Requirements

• Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology
• Active South Carolina license or IMLC
• BLS and DEA
• Clean background required for emergency temporary privileges
• Ability to commit to an initial contract of at least 6 months
