Northwell Health’s Cohen Children’s Medical Center, a leading children's hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished Pediatric Critical Care Physician to lead its exceptional Critical Care Division. This role involves overseeing a robust program centered around a state-of-the-art Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and associated critical care services. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and innovative team at a nationally recognized institution committed to providing the highest quality care to children.

Practice Info

  • Lead a thriving division of attending physicians, fellows, advanced practice providers (APPs), and a dedicated support team.
  • Oversee a robust and comprehensive program centered around a state-of-the-art Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and associated critical care services.
  • Academic appointment at Zucker School of Medicine, Hofstra/Northwell.
  • The 25-bed PICU is equipped with advanced capabilities including ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation), advanced ventilation strategies, neurocritical care, and transport services.
  • Serve as a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center.
  • An additional 12-bed step-down unit allows continuing care and/or lower acuity critical care managed by the critical care team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Critical Care Division.
  • Oversee a robust and comprehensive program centered around the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and associated critical care services.
  • Mentor and train the next generation of pediatric critical care physicians.
  • Actively participate with the Trauma Team, Neuroscience Institute, Pediatric Heart Center, Nephrology, Oncology, General and Subspecialty Surgical Services, and Transplant Services.
  • Collaborate with the dedicated cardiac critical care team to provide expert care to children with complex congenital heart disease and/or heart failure.
  • Collaborate with the Level 4 NICU to provide expert critical care to vulnerable neonates.
  • Collaborate with the renal, cardiac, and bone marrow transplant teams for critical care support.

Requirements

  • Board-certified Pediatric Critical Care Physician.
  • Proven track record of leadership, clinical excellence, and academic achievement.
  • Eligible for licensure in New York.
  • Passionate about providing family-centered care.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
