Cardiac Anesthesiologist

Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC) in Poughkeepsie, NY, part of Nuvance Health™, is seeking a Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join their state-of-the-art facility. This role offers the opportunity to work in a regional medical center with the area's first cardiothoracic surgery program and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. The position involves a wide range of case assignments and medical management of patients during surgical procedures.

• 350-bed facility overlooking the Hudson River
• Patient Pavilion with 294 private patient rooms, a 30-room intensive care unit, 13 surgical suites, and 66 exam and treatment rooms in the emergency and trauma center
• Home to the area’s first cardiothoracic surgery program located between Westchester County and Albany, NY
• Only Level III neonatal intensive care unit in the region

Responsibilities

• Case assignments: Endo, general, labor and delivery, radiology, ortho, electrophysiology, GYN, vascular, neuro, uro, cardiac, thoracic, ENT, and plastics
• Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Compensation

• Salary: $600,000
• Cardiac Stipend: $25,000 annually
• Sign on Incentive: Up to $100,000

Requirements

• M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
• ECFMG and FLEX
• Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
• Currently licensed as a physician
