Night Float Anesthesiologist

Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY, is seeking a Night Float Anesthesiologist to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work at a renowned 350-bed facility, part of Nuvance Health, overlooking the Hudson River. The position involves a comprehensive range of anesthesia services within a supportive care team model.

• Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC) is a 350-bed facility.
• VBMC is part of Nuvance Health.
• The facility includes a Patient Pavilion with 294 private patient rooms, a 30-room intensive care unit, 13 surgical suites, and 66 exam and treatment rooms in the emergency and trauma center.
• Home to the area’s first cardiothoracic surgery program located between Westchester County and Albany, NY.
• Has the only Level III neonatal intensive care unit in the region.
• Care team model focuses on giving everyone a voice, while supporting, respecting, and helping them to deliver care excellence.

Responsibilities

• Case assignments: Endo, general, labor and delivery, radiology, ortho, electrophysiology, GYN, vascular, neuro, URO, cardiac, thoracic, ENT, and plastics.
• Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department.
• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures.
• Pre-anesthesia assessment.
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent.
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient.
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition and performance of clinical intervention as needed.

Compensation

• Salary: $615,000
• Up to $150,000 sign-on package

Shift & Schedule

• 26 weeks on 26 weeks off Monday-Monday 7p-7a

Requirements

• M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine.
• ECFMG and FLEX.
• Completion of approved residency in anesthesia.
• Currently licensed as a physician.
