Sales Representative (Logistics & Freight Solutions)
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Representative with experience in the logistics, freight, transportation, or supply chain industry to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with prospective clients, and selling logistics solutions that meet customer needs. The ideal candidate is a proactive hunter who thrives in a fast-paced sales environment and has a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and generate new business opportunities through cold calling, email outreach, networking, referrals, and social selling.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline using CRM software.
- Build relationships with shippers, manufacturers, distributors, and other prospective clients.
- Understand customer shipping and logistics requirements and recommend tailored transportation solutions.
- Prepare and present pricing proposals, quotes, and service agreements.
- Negotiate contracts and close new business opportunities.
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales quotas.
- Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and exceptional client experience.
- Conduct market research to identify new industries and business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate sales records, pipeline updates, and activity reports in the CRM.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities as needed.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2+ years of B2B sales experience in the logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, shipping, or supply chain industry.
- Proven success in generating new business through outbound prospecting and cold calling.
- Strong understanding of domestic and/or international freight services, including:
Full Truckload (FTL)
Less-than-Truckload (LTL)
Expedited Freight
Intermodal
Air Freight
Ocean Freight (preferred)
- Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho CRM, or similar.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple sales opportunities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred
- Experience selling freight brokerage or third-party logistics (3PL) services.
- Existing network of shippers or transportation industry contacts.
- Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS).
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Marketing, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Experience working with US-based customers
