Executive Director and CEO
The client seeks an exceptional Executive Director and CEO to lead the institution into its next chapter. This role will guide a major museum of American art through strategic evolution, strengthening national presence, deepening community engagement, and supporting long-term financial sustainability. The client is a dynamic cultural resource offering expansive exhibitions and programming, along with a preeminent collection spanning major artists and an extensive American photography holdings. Reporting to shared institutional priorities, the Executive Director and CEO will articulate and execute a compelling institutional vision, unify a broad range of stakeholders, and advance the museum’s mission while positioning the organization as a cultural destination and leader. The ideal candidate will bring a forward-looking mindset and the ability to align and expand a multifaceted community that includes the Board of Trustees, staff, and key partners. The Executive Director and CEO will be expected to foster collaboration across these groups to deliver shared priorities, support ongoing institutional research and conservation strengths, and strengthen the organization’s impact over time.
