- You'll play a key role in supporting the Company's Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance program, helping maintain a strong internal control environment and supporting reliable financial reporting.
- This role is a part of the Corporate Controller team within the Finance group
What you'll do
- Performs day-to-day activities supporting the Company's annual SOX work plan, including execution of procedures under Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) Sections 302 and 404, such as assisting with the annual risk assessment, developing and maintaining process documentation, and testing key SOX controls
- Partners with process owners to develop and implement action plans to remediate any control deficiencies
- Works with the Company's external auditors to coordinate gathering audit evidence to support testing of key SOX controls
- Assists business groups by providing guidance on internal control matters as needed
- Develops and maintains process documentation and SOX test plans in alignment with PCAOB Auditing Standard 2201
- Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes, procedures, and key accounting assumptions on an ongoing basis, identifying opportunities to strengthen controls
- Recommends and assists with process improvements to enhance the control environment and optimize the utilization of technology resources
- Represents the department in meetings and communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders through clear written and verbal communication
- Performs a variety of other functions and ad-hoc projects, as assigned, to support the Department’s and the Company’s objectives
- Stays informed of PCAOB developments and emerging requirements that may impact the Company’s SOX compliance activities
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience/education
- Minimum 3 years of SOX/ICFR, Internal Audit, External Audit or related risk/control experience in large public companies or Big 4/Top 10 firms or relevant experience
- Knowledge and experience in the application and the audit of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- MBA, Master’s degree in Accounting, or other relevant graduate degree
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with sufficient credits to meet CPA exam eligibility requirements
- Professional certification (CPA or equivalent certification)
- Experience with SEC financial and DOT reporting and applicable regulations
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Experience with SOX, COSO 2013, and PCAOB requirements impacting accounting and internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)
- Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities
- Proficiency with Workiva and standard accounting and finance applications such as MS Office, SAP, Hyperion/HFM, Coupa and Trintech knowledge preferred
- Minimal travel may be required
