Associate Attorney (0056-0002)

Providing legal advice and counsel to clients on various immigration matters, including employment-based and family-based visas and naturalizations; Legal research and writing, including preparing briefs, motions, and legal memoranda; Staying updated on changes in immigration laws and policies; Preparing and reviewing immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documents for filing with USCIS, the Department of Labor, and other relevant government agencies; and Participating in the firm’s academic and community outreach initiatives, including: delivering guest lectures and informational sessions at law schools, colleges, and universities; engaging with international student organizations; and providing practical workshops on immigration processes.

Education and Experience Requirements

Minimum requirements: Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) and NY State Bar Licensure plus twelve (12) months of training as a Law clerk, trainee lawyer, or legal clerk in law firm in any jurisdiction (U.S. domestic or foreign), plus six (6) months of experience as an Attorney licensed in any jurisdiction (U.S. domestic or foreign) with experience in the following areas: conducting legal research and analysis for clients; reviewing corporate legal documents; analyzing legal contracts; summarizing legal documents; assisting with case management; communicating with clients; drafting petitions and legal documents; supporting and collaborating with attorneys; participating in and observing oral arguments in court; initiating and contributing to client pitches; conducting case law research; and performing initial client interviews, plus a minimum of 100 hours of experience within the U.S. federal or state judicial system through a judicial externship, internship, law school-sponsored program, or pro bono program.
