American Family Dentistry - Mountain Grove is seeking a full-time Dental Hygienist to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee. We are also open to speaking with part-time candidates.

We are looking for a hygienist with at least one year of clinical experience who is passionate about patient care and enjoys working in a collaborative, team-focused environment. Our ideal candidate is an honest, compassionate, and respectful professional who is confident in their clinical abilities, values punctuality and reliability, maintains a positive and open mindset, and is motivated to contribute to both team success and patient outcomes. This individual should be goal-oriented, committed to providing exceptional care, and excited to grow with a practice that is focused on rebuilding, continuous improvement, and delivering outstanding patient experiences.

Schedule

Full-Time

  • Monday: 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 6:45 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Thursday: 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 7:45 AM – 2:00 PM

Part-time candidates will also be considered.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Current dental hygienist license in Tennessee and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene (where required)
  • Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
  • CPR Certification

 

Preferred Experience

  • 1+ years of clinical experience preferred. 
  • Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems
  • Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients’ dental health
  • Clinical needs as required by office

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential duties as deemed necessary by the Office/ Doctor/ Heartland Dental with or without reasonable accommodation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of the position
  • Prolonged periods sitting and standing
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds at times
  • Availability to attend virtual training sessions (or in-person) periodically throughout the year
  • As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for both team members and patients, a tuberculosis (TB) test is required for all new hires in dental office positions. This is a standard requirement for dental office roles and must be completed prior to starting employment. The test will be arranged during the pre-employment process, and any necessary guidance or paperwork will be provided. Not applicable in the state of FL & TN.
