So here's the thing.
I was talking to a doctor friend of mine the other day the kind of guy who runs a tight ship, treats his people right, and has built something most practice owners only dream about.
And he said something that stopped me cold.
"Frank, I'm losing sleep over this. I've got two great clinics. Solid patient base. Amazing staff. But I cannot find the right provider and it's costing me."
Now, here's what makes his situation different from most practices you've seen.
His patient panel is predominantly Chinese speaking. Hardworking families. Elderly patients who come in with their grandchildren to translate. Patients who've been with him for years and trust him completely.
And here's the problem he's wrestling with:
He needs a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who speaks Chinese.
Not "preferred." Not "nice to have." Must.
Because without that language bridge, his patients can't fully communicate. They hold back symptoms. They nod along to instructions they don't completely understand. And that's not fair to them.
So he asked me: "Can you help me find the right person?"
And I told him I'd try.
Here's the situation:
Two locations to choose from Columbia, MD 21042 or Parkville, MD 21234. Both are well-established internal medicine and primary care practices. Clean. Well-run. The kind of place where you walk in and immediately feel the difference.
The schedule? Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Read that again.
No nights. No weekends.
I know. It sounds suspended in amber. But it's real.
The compensation? $128,000 to $135,000 a year.
Full benefits: medical, dental, vision. Paid vacation. 401K.
The team? Amazing doctor. Wonderful staff. People who actually like each other and work like a well-oiled machine.
New grads? Absolutely welcome. If you have the heart and the language skills, they want to talk to you.
Now let me be straight with you about who this is for.
This is for an NP or PA who:
Speaks English and Chinese fluently (Mandarin or Cantonese)
Wants to work in internal medicine / primary care
Values a schedule that gives them their evenings and weekends back
Wants to be part of a practice that genuinely cares about its patients and staff
Is tired of the corporate assembly-line approach to healthcare
This is NOT for you if:
You love working nights and weekends (because there aren't any here)
You prefer being a number in a large health system over being a valued member of a private practice team
Here's what I'd do if I were you.
I'd send my CV or Resume. Right now. Not next week. Not when I've updated it. Now.
Because practices like this? With schedules like this? With teams like this?
They don't stay open long.
And the right NP or PA the one who speaks Chinese, who wants primary care, who values balance they're going to walk into this and wonder why they didn't find it sooner.
That person should be you.
Send your CV or Resume.
