We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Account Clerk to join our team on a contract basis. This role is responsible for performing a variety of complex clerical and financial record-keeping functions, ensuring the accuracy of official agency financial records, and managing transactions involving significant sums of money.

Key Responsibilities
• Financial Record Keeping: Maintain official agency financial records; certify their accuracy; post and process encumbrances and expenditures.
• Transaction Management: Receive, deposit, and distribute monies, securities, and other valuables. Audit transactions and authorize payment of vouchers.
• Budget & Reporting: Assist in the preparation and control of agency budgets; prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports; calculate monthly profit-loss statements.
• Clerical Support: Perform invoice validation and approval, vendor database maintenance, reception duties, and call flow routing.
• Operations: Operate various office equipment; manage equipment orders and repairs; negotiate settlement of accounts; and manage lease/auction-related tasks.
• General Administration: Exercise limited purchasing and inventory control; follow established procedures for contracts and contracting; and perform related duties as required.

Requirements
• Experience: 5+ years of relevant clerical and accounting experience.
• Knowledge: Working knowledge of bookkeeping, auditing, contracts, and contracting procedures.
• Communication: Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, while practicing diplomacy, tact, and courtesy.
• Problem-Solving: Aptitude for business, mathematics, and public relations, with the ability to solve complex problems independently.
• Skills: Ability to work under pressure, maintain strict confidentiality, and handle money/valuables with high accuracy.
• Compliance: Must be eligible to be bonded.

Required / Desired Skills
• Prior recordkeeping & bookkeeping experience. Required - 5 Years
• Accounts payable/voucher processing experience Required - 5 Years
• Prior experience with budget preparation and control assistance. Required - 5 Years
• Prior experience with financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual) Required - 5 Years
• Procurement & contract knowledge Required - 5 Years
• Able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Required - 1 Years
