Experienced Tree Climber / Bucket Operator

Job Description

Borris Tree Service is hiring an experienced Tree Climber / Bucket Operator to join our crew in Northeast Ohio.

This is an experienced position for someone who understands tree work, climbing, knots, rigging, and safe removals. We are looking for a climber who can safely perform tree removals, trimming, pruning, and hazardous tree work, including rigging down hazardous limbs near homes, garages, fences, and tight-access areas.

Borris Tree Service specializes in dead and hazardous tree removal, and we need someone dependable, safety-minded, and ready to work as part of a professional crew.

Responsibilities
Climb trees safely using proper climbing gear and techniques
Operate from a bucket truck or lift when needed
Perform tree removals, trimming, pruning, and hazardous tree work
Use proper knots, ropes, and rigging techniques
Safely rig down hazardous limbs and sections
Use chainsaws, ropes, rigging gear, and related tree care equipment
Work safely around homes, structures, fences, and tight spaces
Communicate clearly with crew members during removals and trimming
Help maintain equipment, tools, ropes, and jobsite organization
Assist with cleanup when needed
Follow company safety procedures at all times
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of tree climbing experience required
Experience with knots, ropes, and rigging required
Experience rigging down hazardous limbs required
Experience with tree removal, trimming, pruning, and chainsaw operation required
Comfortable working at height
Must be reliable and show up on time
Must be able to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
Must be able to lift, drag brush, and perform physical labor when needed
Valid driver’s license required
CDL is a plus
Bucket truck, lift, crane, or equipment experience is a plus
ISA certification or arborist experience is a plus, but not required
Schedule

Work usually starts between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM. Shifts are typically around 10 hours, but can run later depending on the job, weather, and schedule.

Pay

Highly competitive pay based on experience.

We need someone who knows tree work, respects safety, and can be trusted on serious jobs. This position is best for someone who has already worked in the tree industry and is comfortable handling hazardous removals with the crew.
