Director, Platform Engineering (0106-0002)

Duties: Plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects. Lead and guide the work of technical staff. Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage. Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met. Provide strategic, organizational, and technical leadership for Papa John’s cloud platforms. Manage the design and build of cloud platform services that operate with a high degree of availability and operational excellence. Bring clarity of roles, responsibilities and services in a maturing cloud-first environment. Prioritize workload, budgets, and schedules towards the realization of key business objectives. Manage various aspects of risk and compliance relative to the organization’s assets. Build deep and productive relationships with various technology teams. Elevate the performance of the team through technical leadership, strategy, and ability to navigate and distill complex processes and architectures. Define and enforce appropriate standards, procedures, and best practices, including but not limited to those aligned with DevOps principles. Ensure appropriate types and levels of architecture review, code review, testing, documentation, monitoring, escalation, and metrics to ensure the ongoing Platform Health. Create and sustain continuous improvement in key areas, e.g. Cloud Cost Optimization, Quality Automation, Release Automation, Application Performance Management, Reference Implementations, Technology Adoption, Service Level Management, Resiliency, Disaster Recovery.

Education and Experience Requirements

Requirements: Requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related. Experience is required (3 years with Master’s or 5 years progressive, post-Bachelor’s with Bachelor’s). Must have some experience in each of the following skills: Managing a DevOps team for multiple customers simultaneously; Implementing Azure DevOps portfolio across various projects; Overseeing transformation journeys, ensuring smooth transitions from legacy systems to modern DevOps practices; Establishing efficient Azure DevOps CI/CD/CT Pipelines for the deployment of applications across different technologies (Net Stack, Salesforce, and Angular JS) improving deployment speed and reliability; Facilitating the adoption of best practices by providing comprehensive training and creating playbooks on branching strategies, DevSecOps automation, Pipelines, and agile dashboards; Leading a Testing COE responsible for end-to-end oversight of automation, performance, and functional testing; Building and maintaining long-term customer relationships through effective account management and cross-functional leadership.
