Lead Automotive Mechanic

Roslyn Masters Service Station is seeking an experienced, highly skilled, and reliable Lead Automotive Mechanic to join our team in Roslyn Heights, NY. In this role, you will oversee shop operations, mentor junior technicians, and handle everything from routine maintenance to complex mechanical repairs and diagnostics. Key Responsibilities

Advanced Diagnostics & Repairs: Efficiently diagnose and repair complex automotive issues including engine performance, advanced electrical systems, transmissions, and drivability problems.
Heavy Mechanical Work: Perform major repairs such as engine overhauls/replacements, transmission work, and suspension overhauls (including control arms, bushings, and steering components).
Routine Maintenance: Seamlessly handle daily routine services including oil changes, tire repairs, rotations, alignments, and filter replacements.
Leadership & Mentorship: Guide and support junior mechanics, ensure safety protocols are followed, and maintain high standards of quality control across the shop.
Customer Service: Explain technical diagnoses and repair options to customers or service advisors clearly and professionally.
Skills & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience working as an automotive technician (experience in a lead or senior role is highly preferred).
Technical Expertise: Proven proficiency with advanced diagnostic scanners, engine/transmission rebuilds, and suspension work (control arms, struts, etc.).
Certifications: ASE Certifications (Advanced Engine Performance, Drivetrain, etc.) are strongly preferred.
Tools: Must possess a complete set of personal hand tools appropriate for this level of position.
Attributes: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent time-management skills, a clean driving record, and a valid driver's license.
