IT Operations & Automation Specialist (Fully Remote)
Overview
We are seeking an IT Operations & Automation Specialist to provide frontline support for our internal users and SaaS-based policy administration platform, with a strong focus on identity and access management, endpoint security, and Microsoft cloud technologies. In addition to user support responsibilities, this role will assist in developing and maintaining internal tools, automations, and applications that improve IT operations, security processes, and overall user experience. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues while also leveraging technology to streamline and automate business processes.
Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, IT operations, or a related technical role
• Strong experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments in a business setting
• Experience administering Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including user lifecycle management, group management, and MFA
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and endpoint management concepts
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation, administration, and troubleshooting
• Working knowledge of one or more programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or similar
• Understanding of security best practices, access controls, and endpoint management principles
• Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting internal applications, integrations, workflows, or automation solutions
• Understanding of REST APIs, authentication methods, and system integrations
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with business users and technical teams
• Experience working within ticketing systems and structured support processes
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and endpoint compliance management
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
• Experience administering Atlassian products (Jira and Confluence), including workflow design, automation, and reporting
• Experience with source control systems such as Git and GitHub
• Familiarity with Azure services, application registrations, service principals, and identity governance
• Experience building integrations between cloud-based applications and SaaS platforms
• Exposure to security frameworks, identity governance, endpoint security, or compliance programs
Responsibilities
• Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 support to internal users, resolving issues related to Windows devices, Microsoft 365, business applications, connectivity, and user access.
• Administer and support Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including user provisioning, group management, MFA enrollment, password resets, and access requests.
• Manage endpoint lifecycle activities through Microsoft Intune, including device enrollment, application deployment, compliance monitoring, and policy management.
• Perform onboarding and offboarding activities, ensuring proper account provisioning, licensing, device configuration, and access controls.
• Support endpoint security and compliance initiatives by assisting with device security policies, conditional access requirements, and remediation of compliance issues.
• Perform first-level triage and resolution of issues related to identity management, endpoint security, device compliance, and core IT infrastructure, escalating advanced incidents as necessary.
• Design, configure, and maintain IT service management processes within Atlassian Jira and Confluence, including workflows, automation, user administration, and reporting.
• Develop and maintain scripts, automations, and internal applications that improve IT operations, user provisioning, asset management, and support workflows.
• Assist with system integrations and automation initiatives involving Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Atlassian products, and other business applications.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced security controls.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Support testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of internally developed tools and applications.

In compliance with state and local laws, the expected salary range for this role is $75,000 to $95,000. This salary range is a good faith estimate of the compensation for this position, and the final hiring offer may vary depending on the applicant's experience, education, and qualifications.
