We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Public Health Program Director (MCHBG Action Plan Coordinator) to provide leadership and coordination for Maternal and Child Health Block Grant (MCHBG) strategic planning, implementation, and performance reporting activities. This role is pivotal in driving measurable improvements in maternal and child health outcomes.

You will work closely with program leadership and external partners to ensure alignment between program activities, federal requirements, and quality improvement principles. The ideal candidate will act as a central resource for developing action plans, monitoring performance, and fostering continuous improvement for statewide maternal and child health initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Planning: Coordinate the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of MCHBG action plans across priority areas, including contraceptive access, maternal mental health, perinatal regionalization, disease prevention in children, adolescent wellbeing, children with special healthcare needs, and family nutrition.
• Project Management: Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and reporting cycles to ensure strict compliance with federal standards.
• Technical Support: Provide guidance, writing support, and technical assistance to program staff to ensure high-quality documentation.
• Operational Excellence: Develop standardized tools, templates, and resources to support consistent reporting and monitoring practices.
• Analysis: Review and analyze progress reports to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Mentorship: Supervise and mentor interns to advance program goals.
• Communication: Prepare and present progress updates and recommendations to division leadership and key partners.

Minimum Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience: 2 3 years of experience in maternal and child health, public health program management, or a related field.
• Expertise: Solid understanding of maternal and child health issues, health disparities, and evidence-based interventions.
• Skills: Demonstrated success in developing and managing programs or projects. Requires exceptional written/verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and leadership abilities.
• Proficiencies: Exceptional partnership building, networking, problem-solving, critical thinking, time management, and grant management skills.
• Compliance: Must pass a comprehensive background check.

Logistics
• Location: Hybrid position.
• Travel: Ability to travel throughout the state as needed (with advanced notice) and out-of-state for national conferences (average 2 3 times per year).
