Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Quality, Electrical) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in quality, reliability, product, or test engineering, specifically focused on DRAM technologies (e.g., DDR and LPDDR components, and DIMM modules).
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time as needed.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Quality or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in quality, reliability, or product engineering with technical focus on DRAM nodes and high-density DIMM architectures.
  • Auditor experience in quality management systems, fab, assembly or test.
  • Proficiency in statistical data analysis. Experience extracting, analyzing, and building predictive quality models from factory test logs and fleet telemetries.
  • Understanding of error correction and reliability features in advanced computing systems. Ability to align hardware failure mechanisms to specific mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to interpret system-level failure symptoms and map to RCCA.

As a Solid-State Drive (SSD)/Dual In-line Memory Module (DIMM) Supplier Quality Engineer, you work in collaboration with Suppliers, Hardware Designers, Commodity Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Data Center teams. You will set and manage SSD component quality and reliability standards, drive supplier factory certification audits, and lead component and manufacturing site qualifications. You will actively manage NPI and sustaining quality, continuous improvements, and ensure lessons learned are actioned back to suppliers and partner teams. You will drive true root cause failure analysis and systemic corrective actions with comprehensive preventative actions. You will extract and analyze data from supplier facilities, Google production lines, and Google data centers to verify performance and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end quality, reliability, and qualification of memory components and modules from introduction through product discontinuation across diverse server platforms.
  • Establish field reliability metrics and predictive failure rates for components deployed across the computing fleet based on operational telemetry and workload stresses.
  • Influence memory suppliers and contract manufacturers while providing on-site technical factory support during critical hardware quality crises.

  • Partner with cross-functional design and manufacturing teams to implement advanced quality plans and proactively mitigate global supply chain risks.
