This role serves as a Team Lead Accountant responsible for reconciling old, open projects to facilitate their formal closure within the organization's financial and grant management software. The position requires a detail-oriented professional capable of performing extensive audit work, processing journal entries, and managing revenue transactions while tracking the reconciliation status of various grants and projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Project Reconciliation & Closure: Audit past project activities and reconcile financial data to bring projects to a state of closure.
• Leadership & Tracking: Act as the project lead, maintaining a comprehensive tracking system for all projects and grants assigned for reconciliation, including the status of each.
• Financial Processing: Process journal entries and revenue transactions as required based on audit findings.
• Grant Management: Review and interpret Notice of Awards and grant requirements to ensure all financial reconciliations align with specific award conditions.
• Collaboration: Work independently to research and resolve complex financial issues while coordinating with internal finance teams as necessary.
• Operational Excellence: Develop and maintain effective reconciliation procedures and ensure clear communication across the project team.

Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent professional experience in the accounting field.
• Experience: 3 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or auditing.
• Technical Proficiency: Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Audit Standards (GAAS), and Governmental Accounting Principles.
• Financial Literacy: Familiarity with federal, state, and agency budgeting/fiscal policies and procedures.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on researching complex financial discrepancies.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills are suitable for all organizational levels.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism, tact, and courtesy.

Required / Desired Skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Required - 4 Years
• Experience with PeopleSoft. Required - 3 Years
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting/auditing experience. Required - 3 Years
• Knowledge of GAAP Required - 7 Years
• Knowledge of GAAS Required - 7 Years
• Government Accounting Required - 3 Years
• Audit Experience Required - 3 Years
• Experience with Euna financial and grants software. Required - 1 Years
