Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience negotiating and structuring agreements or leading business development.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with data center technology, large collocation agreements, industrial scale site selection, power transmission/distribution, and cooling technology.
- Experience managing utility agreements, energy-related issues, and clean energy initiatives.
- Experience with real estate transactions, evaluation, acquisition, development, and financial modeling.
- Experience with indirect taxes, economic development policy, agreement drafting/redlining, and presentation development.
About the job
As a Data Center Strategic Negotiator, you will work with the team to identify locations and sites of interest for Google's data centers, establish agreements and build relationships with landowners, economic development officials, power grid and energy companies, telecommunications companies and government officials, data center developers, as well as data center providers. You will lead discussions for purchase and service agreements with these key stakeholders such as managing a broad range of compliance issues, site/infrastructure development strategy and milestone tracking.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Responsibilities
- Work with internal and external technical teams to identify, define, and pursue data center growth, site expansions, and utility connections at existing and new greenfield or brownfield sites.
- Develop and implement metrics to map, track, and advocate for broad site development issues, while leveraging financial metrics to back portfolio decisions.
- Serve as a commercial liaison to discuss complex and agreements with vendors, landowners, and key suppliers for critical space and utility services.
- Manage confidential, long-term infrastructure growth strategies and project plans with a strong awareness of value, timing, and third-party executive influence.
- Support ongoing regional progress reports while fostering an open, workplace for colleagues in all day-to-day interactions.
