Summary:

Experienced Wood Cabinet Finisher with advanced skills in surface preparation, staining, sealing, and high-end finishing techniques. Ensuring consistent color, coating thickness, and durability across all products while maintaining strict quality standards and production timelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Staining, painting, glazing, sealing and top coating
2. Sand/prep solid wood, veneer, MDF.
3. Maintain spray equipment (guns, tips, lines, pumps)
4. Ability to troubleshoot Kremlin pumps a bonus but not required
5. Ability to stain match a bonus, not required
6. Maintain consistent mil thickness and sheen
7. Work with water base, conversion varnish and polyurethanes
8. Ability to understand finishing schedules i.e. flash times, recoat windows, and cure time
9. Keep area and equipment clean.

Qualifications

1. 1-2 years Wood Finishing experience preferred
2. High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required

3. Knowledge of essential wood finishing techniques which include:
a. Use of HVLP and air-assisted airless pumps
b. Staining
c. Painting and clear coating

4. Prior experience in woodworking preferred, but not required
5. Familiarity with woodworking tools and machinery a plus
6. Strong manual dexterity and physical stamina
7. Knowledge of wood types and finishes
8. Commitment to safety and quality control

Work Environment

Requires use of PPE (e.g., safety glasses, ear protection, respirator, dust masks)
Workshop or factory setting with exposure to wood dust, noise, and machinery
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
