Lead Electrician(Commercial Rooftop Solar)

Position Overview:

GPT Renewables is seeking an experienced Lead Solar Electrician to support a 2 MW commercial flat rooftop solar project. This project utilizes a Panel Claw racking system supported by ballasts with roof attachments, VSun modules, and SMA inverters.

This individual must have strong commercial rooftop solar experience and be comfortable leading a crew while actively working alongside the team ( wearing the tools ). The selected candidate will work closely with the Mechanical Lead and Superintendent to help drive the project safely and efficiently to completion.

This is a 15-week project with consistent overtime and the opportunity to work on a high-profile commercial rooftop installation.

Pay Rate: $37.75(+ Fringe benefits of $15.00)
Per Diem: $140 per work day

Responsibilities:

Promote and comply with all Company and site-specific safety policies and procedures.
Lead and work alongside electrical and installation crews in all aspects of commercial rooftop solar construction.
Install and oversee installation of Panel Claw racking systems utilizing ballast and roof attachment methods.
Install, terminate, and troubleshoot PV electrical systems including modules, wiring, inverters, and associated equipment.
Work with VSun modules and SMA inverter systems.
Utilize hand tools and battery-operated power tools such as impacts, drills, saws, and other construction equipment safely and effectively.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, construction plans, layouts, and schematics.
Coordinate daily work activities with the Mechanical Lead and Superintendent.
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, NEC requirements, and quality standards.
Operate and work from scissor lifts while performing rooftop installation tasks.
Assist with crew task assignments, productivity tracking, and mentoring less experienced electricians and installers.
Identify and resolve installation issues, electrical deficiencies, or material concerns in the field.
Conduct electrical testing and inspections as required.
Maintain clean and organized work areas, tools, and equipment.
Follow all fall protection, lockout/tagout, and rooftop safety requirements.
Support project completion milestones and maintain production schedules.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of experience working as a Electrician, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a construction or industrial setting.
Proven experience in solar ground mount construction and management
Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals related to PV systems and electrical components.
Experience working with SMA inverters and VSun modules is a plus.
Understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
Ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team environment.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to pass a drug screen & basic background check
