Senior Engineering Manager (0059-0009)

Lead a team of Senior Software Engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and feedback.
Provide insight into architecture, technical design documents, and code reviews, leading to more stable, resilient products.
Oversee the creation and improvement of multi-platform services that power voice-controlled TV games.
Lead the development of full-stack systems while ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices. For backend systems, this involves creating RESTful API services using NodeJS, JSON, TypeScript, and relational database systems, including SQL servers. For frontend systems, this includes building highly interactive game interfaces using React, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
Oversee cloud infrastructure initiatives, driving efforts to implement scalable and automated resource provisioning, build processes, and deployment pipelines.
Provide insight on strategic approaches for automating and maintaining infrastructure using Terraform, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, and cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services.
Work closely with software developers to increase development productivity by building and deploying internal Java applications, including JavaScript libraries, Software Development Kits (SDKs), Starter Kits, DevOps automations, and writing API documentation.
Collaborate with other technical and non-technical teams to understand their needs, gather and refine requirements, prepare roadmaps and drive project execution.
Identify technical risks preemptively and maintain a prioritized list of technical debt. Provide input into technical strategy for the team in collaboration with leadership.
Responsible for improvements to infrastructure and DevOps including CI/CD pipelines and IaaS support.
Build monitoring and alerting systems, investigate performance issues and production bottlenecks, and ensure best practices are followed to optimize performance and stability.
Write and improve documentation such as internal technical guides and diagrams (including systems diagram, flowcharts, and Entity Relationship diagrams) for customers, product managers, and engineers.
Ensure all infrastructure components are secure and adhere to best practices and security guidelines, and partner with Quality Assurance (QA) to efficiently manage and track bug reports to ensure swift resolution and deliver best-in-class games.
Conduct interviews to recruit Software Engineers to the team and work on improving the recruiting process by developing interviews, performance scorecards, and job descriptions.

Education and Experience Requirements

A Master’s degree or foreign educational equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, plus three (3) years’ experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s (or foreign education equivalent) Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, plus five (5) years (post-degree, progressive) experience in the job offered or related occupation is acceptable.

Special Skills Requirements

a. Building and maintaining RESTful APIs and building backends using JSON. b. Experience in Software Development Kits (SDKs), HTML5, SQL, and relational database systems, including SQL Server. c. Executing DevOps tasks, including building and deploying applications written in Java. d. Creating JavaScript libraries. e. Collaborating with internal teams, including Business Development, to refine project requirements and estimate costs, resources, and timelines. f. Collaborating with Quality Assurance (QA) to manage bug reports and ensure timely resolutions. g. Using API documentation, Entity Relationship diagrams and technical guides. h. Full-stack development. i. Designing and developing front ends using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
