JOB SUMMARY

A creative and passionate architecture and design firm seeks an experienced and highly qualified commercial project manager who has a demonstrated background in a Master’s degree in architecture, landscape architecture or related fields from an accredited institution. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated working experience in commercial projects all-phase design and construction coordination. Candidates will collaborate with clients and cross-functional project teams, oversee diverse aspects of project development, the projects meet the deadlines, clients’ objectives, and legal compliance, and among others.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

To apply for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

Master’s degree in architecture, landscape architecture or related fields at an accredited institution.

3 years of demonstrated working experience in commercial projects all-phase design and construction coordination.

Demonstrated experience in all phases of design process, including site survey, production of design submissions, development of design details, specification of interior and exterior materials, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and plants.

Demonstrated abilities in construction coordination, including preparing comprehensive architectural and landscape architectural construction documentation, providing solutions for design changes per field conditions, shop drawings review, and material specification.

Demonstrated experience in commercial project management, including project time control, budget control and project planning.

Must be knowledgeable of California building codes, international building codes, ADA regulations, Health Department regulations, commercial material standards, land features, native plants, and any local regulations that might be applied to project location.

Proficiency in design modeling and drawings, and related tools or software, such as creating plans, elevations, detail drawings, 3D models and renderings using SketchUp, Rhino, Enscape, AutoCad, and Adobe Creative Suites.

Excellent communication and organization skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate with clients and cross-functional teams, including architects, city departments, civil engineers, contractors, vendors and manufacturers, and work effectively in a team environment with all levels of staff/management within the organization.

Strong willingness to commute and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

JOB DUTIES

Collaborate with clients to deeply understand their vision and expectations, and develop and implement detailed project plans, meticulously aligning timelines and budgets with client expectations.

Collaborate with cross-functional project teams through every phase of commercial design, ensuring seamless development from concept presentation, design development to construction documents.

Coordinate seamlessly with City, engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors across project phases, effectively reviewing MEP drawings and manufacturer drawings, and making design decisions.

Rigorously ensure compliance with building codes, by-laws, ADA standards, and local regulations, ensuring technical viability and alignment with architectural, landscape and interior goals.

Prepare and host regular client meetings and project team meetings, ensuring clarity on tasks, deliverables, and milestones, as well as plan, schedule, and submit project deliverables to meet deadlines.

Oversee diverse aspects of project development from design to construction phases, ensuring alignment with design intent, and regularly report on project status, including project progress, budget updates, change orders, construction site issues, and client responses.

Manage project costs and control budgets by implementing proactive cost-control measures and providing strategic solutions for budget changes.

Contribute valuable insights and support company marketing strategies and industry events based on past commercial projects.

Monitor the performance of project team members and provide ongoing guidance and feedback to optimize individual and collective performance.
