Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

Required Skills/Experience: Strong neuro experience and proficiency with G-tubes.

Special Requests: If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility. Eligibility as current/previous employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you are applying to.

Unit Details: Patient population includes neurosciences, deep brain stimulators, stroke, seizures, surgical/post-op spines, and neurological disorders. Titration is only done by physician orders in a step-down setting. There may be some protocols that allow for titration, and education will be provided. Common titratable and/or set-rate drips include Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and Insulin. RT is available 24/7. Floor vents are usually on set settings and are managed by RT and the physician; patients requiring changes return to the ICU. Tele is used on the unit. RNs do not read strips and must document that they verified the monitor tech’s strip reading in Epic.

Shift & Scheduling: Three shifts in a row may be allowed but are not guaranteed; travelers need to be flexible. Weekend day positions: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Travelers are expected to work into the holiday rotation.

Floating Requirements: Float to 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E first priority, then to the rest of the hospital if needed.

7 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
