Vivace Academy LLC is seeking a full time Instructor of Piano at. Katy, TX

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide structured piano instruction to elementary, middle school, and high school students to develop technique, sight-reading, music literacy, and artistic interpretation.
• Design lesson plans and curriculum based on established principles of piano pedagogy and music education
• Teach music theory, harmony, and aural skills as integrated components of piano instruction.
• Prepare students for recitals, examinations, competitions, and public performances.
• Provide piano accompaniment, guide collaborative playing, and coach students in chamber, ensemble, and choral settings to develop musicianship and listening skills.
• Select appropriate repertoire, technical studies, and exercises according to student proficiency levels.
• Evaluate student progress and provide technical and musical feedback.
• Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum planning, professional development, and academy-sponsored events.

Requirement:
A master's degree in music or a closely related field is required. Formal advanced study in piano performance and pedagogy is required, along with knowledge of standard piano repertoire, keyboard techniques, and teaching methodologies. Competency in teaching music theory fundamentals and aural skills as applied to keyboard instruction is required. Ability to perform piano accompaniment, demonstrate basic piano improvisation, and support choral or ensemble rehearsal and conducting activities as part of instructional duties is required. Demonstrated proficiency in both solo and collaborative performance is required. Familiarity with major historical style periods and performance practices is required.
