About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to join their team. The CMO will be responsible for driving clinical performance improvement, promoting clinical appropriateness, and reducing unwarranted clinical variation. This role involves overseeing clinical resource and outcomes management, coordinating hospitalist activities, and leading patient safety and quality initiatives. The successful candidate will also be accountable for clinical service line development, utilization review, and clinical standardization. As a key member of the division leadership team, the CMO will be involved in strategic discussions, marketing, and population health strategies. Candidates for the CMO position at the company must have a Medical Doctor (MD) degree, a valid state license, and board certification in their specialty. A minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience is required, with a preference for 5 years of leadership experience in an acute care, inpatient hospital setting. The role demands a deep understanding of contemporary medical practice issues, clinical quality measurement, and all aspects of hospital operations. The CMO will also be expected to have a strong background in patient safety, quality, and medical staff affairs, as well as knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory standards. Experience in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, executive project sponsorship, and a proven track record in leadership are essential.
