About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President for Vehicle Maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic planning, direction, and coordination of bus and rail maintenance operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient services. This role involves balancing budgetary requirements with the goal of enhancing ridership and fostering a customer-focused environment. The VP will also be tasked with eliminating safety issues, increasing security, and minimizing service delays. Key responsibilities include overseeing maintenance programs, procedures, and objectives, as well as maintaining communication during service disruptions. The VP will also be involved in long-term goal setting, policy administration, and the development of a management structure that holds maintenance personnel accountable. Candidates for the Vice President position must have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years' experience in implementing vehicle maintenance programs, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role. Extensive managerial experience at the executive level is essential. The role requires a detailed knowledge of vehicle maintenance principles, local, state, and federal regulations, and budget planning. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are a must, as is the ability to manage multiple projects and drive results. The VP will also be responsible for maintaining safety and incident commander certifications and must be able to work in and around energized electrical currents, moving trains, and equipment.
