Driving Skills Test Examiner (Road Test Examiner)

Location: Grand Rapids, MI (and surrounding Kent County areas)

20-35 hours a week

We are seeking a reliable, observant, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a certified Driving Skills Test Examiner in the Grand Rapids area. In this role, you will administer official automobile road tests to driver’s license applicants, objectively evaluating their driving skills against State of Michigan safety standards.
This position is ideal for retirees, former educators, commercial drivers, or ex-law enforcement personnel looking for a meaningful role that keeps our West Michigan roads safe. No prior testing experience is required we will fully provide the required State of Michigan certification training for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-trip vehicle safety inspections prior to testing.
Accompany driver’s license applicants inside the vehicle to score their driving performance during the on-road exam.
Strictly and impartially score applicants based on official State of Michigan testing parameters.
Provide clear, professional, and calm instructions to applicants during stressful testing situations.
Maintain accurate, legible test score sheets and digital compliance records.
Deliver constructive, polite feedback to applicants who do not pass their exam.
