About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) with a strong background in acute care to join their administrative team. The CMO will be responsible for the oversight and administrative management of the medical staff and patient care programs, ensuring the highest standards of care and the integration of professional medical services within the delivery system. This role requires a leader with a medical degree, board certification, and a clean professional background, as well as extensive experience in hospital operations, medical staff policies, and quality and utilization. The successful candidate will be adept at navigating complex environments, possess exceptional communication and leadership skills, and have a compassionate approach to patient care and staff development. Key responsibilities for the CMO include developing and recommending changes in patient care policies, supporting the Chief Quality Officer in safety and quality programs, and working closely with the Medical Executive Committee on strategic direction. The role also involves overseeing credentialing, medical management, and clinical evaluation activities, and representing the clinical activities of the hospital to the Governing Board. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s or advanced degree, be a current board-certified physician, and have the ability to lead, mentor, and manage medical, clinical, and hospital staff. A focus on patient satisfaction, HCAHPS activities, and the implementation of clinical information technology is essential, as is the ability to establish and monitor procedures in compliance with regulatory bodies.
