Plant Manager
PLANT MANAGER
The Plant Manager is a critical operational leadership role responsible for leading a highly visible manufacturing facility within a growing industrial manufacturing organization. This individual will oversee day-to-day plant execution across production, labor, quality, safety, scheduling, and operational performance inside a union manufacturing environment undergoing significant operational transformation.
The successful candidate will bring strong floor leadership, manufacturing credibility, and operational discipline while helping stabilize and scale an operation supporting fabrication and assembly production tied to both custom engineered and repeat business opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead all day-to-day manufacturing operations across production, labor, safety, quality, scheduling, and operational execution.
• Drive accountability across throughput, labor utilization, workflow execution, customer delivery, and operational discipline.
• Serve as a highly visible floor leader capable of building credibility with hourly workforce, supervisors, and executive leadership.
• Continue implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives, visual management systems, KPI accountability, and operational improvement efforts.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency, production flow, operational consistency, and labor effectiveness across fabrication and assembly operations.
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, HR, Supply Chain, and executive leadership to strengthen plant performance and execution alignment.
• Lead effectively within a union manufacturing environment while balancing accountability, workforce engagement, and operational urgency.
REQUIREMENTS
• 8+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
• Prior Plant Manager or senior operational leadership experience with responsibility across production, labor, quality, safety, and manufacturing execution.
• Hands-on leadership style with strong floor presence and operational ownership mentality.
• Union manufacturing leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Exposure to lean manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives, and quality-driven manufacturing systems.
• Strong operational and manufacturing acumen with ability to improve throughput, labor utilization, and operational consistency.
• Credible communicator capable of influencing workforce, supervisors, and executive leadership.
